Caspian Circle brings Azerbaijani students to Scottish Parliament

A group of Azerbaijani students from the Universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh visited the Scottish Parliament this week, as part of an initiative organised by Caspian Circle.

The visit was led by Caspian Circle CEO Fuad Alakbarov, who accompanied the students during their tour of Holyrood. As part of the programme, the group attended First Minister’s Questions, offering students a rare opportunity to witness the workings of Scotland’s devolved legislature up close.

The students also met with Scottish Labour MSP Pauline McNeill, who welcomed them to Parliament and discussed her career in public service.

Caspian Circle joins Independence Day celebration of Azerbaijan at Lancaster House

Caspian Circle was pleased to attend Azerbaijan’s Independence Day celebration at Lancaster House in London. Hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the UK, the event gathered diplomats, policymakers, business leaders, and friends of Azerbaijan to honour the country’s history, heritage, and journey of independence.

We were proud to support our mission of strengthening ties between the UK, Central Asia, and the South Caucasus, and to mark the occasion with esteemed guests and partners.

Fuad Alakbarov attends Turkish Intercultural Society event at Scottish Parliament

On April 22, Fuad Alakbarov, director of Caspian Circle, attended a special event hosted by The Turkish Intercultural Society (TISS) at the Scottish Parliament. 

The event featured presentations by MSP Collette Stevenson, Acting Consul General Demet Kayaoğlu of the Turkish Consulate General in Edinburgh, and TISS President Kemal Solak. 

The gathering brought together MSPs, senior officials from the Turkish Embassy to the UK, and representatives from various civil society organisations to celebrate and strengthen intercultural dialogue and cooperation.

Fuad Alakbarov participates in the Space-Comm Expo Scotland

On September 11-12, Fuad Alakbarov, director of Caspian Circle, participated in the Space-Comm Expo Scotland at SEC Glasgow. 

The event brought together over 3,000 delegates, 70 exhibitors, and 100 speakers, including Ministers from the UK and Scottish Government, as well as representatives from the UK Space Agency and the European Space Agency.

Caspian Circle team visits Lachin

On July 22, Fuad Alakbarov and Sandra Novak from Caspian Circle visited the liberated city of Lachin. 

Accompanied by the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, they toured the shooting pavilion of the 'Hojazfilm' creative studio. They were informed that the studio will provide filmmakers with guidance and location services, showcasing the region's rich natural landscapes and opportunities, along with access to appropriate equipment.

Fuad Alakbarov attends second Shusha Global Media forum

Fuad Alakbarov, director of Caspian Circle, took part in the second Shusha Global Media Forum, held in Shusha, Azerbaijan, from July 20 to 22, 2024. The forum was attended by more than 150 participants from 50 countries. 

The opening session of the Forum featured a panel discussion with the participation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Using Format
